How I Turned My Necro Into a Walking Tornado

I used to play Summoner Necro in Diablo 4, but after trying the Tornado Necromancer build this Season, I don’t think I’m ever going back. It’s just that good.

This version of Necro uses Bone Storm as the core of the build – but not in the way you’d expect. By using Chaos perks like Alter the Balance, I turned Bone Storm from a slow Ultimate into a core spammable skill that fills the entire screen with shadow tornadoes. With the right setup, they deal critical damage before enemies even get close.

What really surprised me is how passive the playstyle feels. I usually start a run by activating Bone Storm, then let the build do its thing. The tornadoes fly out, triggering extra effects from gear and perks, and most mobs just melt. Against bosses, it’s even more dramatic – Bartuc, one of the new Infernal Horde bosses, didn’t last more than 5 seconds Diablo 4 Items.

Here’s a quick rundown of how I built it:

Main Skills:

  • Bone Storm – Shadow-converted with aspects, becomes your main damage source.
  • Blight – Used for corpse generation and synergy with Darkness effects.
  • Corpse Explosion (Blighted) – Taken mainly to tag it as a Darkness skill, not actively used.

Gear Must-Haves:

  • Lidless Wall – Makes Bone Storm spawn extra storms.
  • Fists of Fate – Great for attack speed and crit scaling.
  • Bloodless Scream – Boosts all Darkness skills.
  • Banished Lord’s Talisman – Helps combine Core and Ultimate damage scaling.
  • Reaper’s Pursuit – Just makes you faster, which helps a lot in fast-paced farming.

In Infernal Hordes, the tornado spam makes this build top-tier. I’ve done several runs now where we didn’t even have to reposition – just cast storms at spawn points and let them do the work. You’ll also find yourself earning gold and materials at an insane pace, which helps if you’re trying to gear up other characters buy Diablo 4 gold.

I genuinely didn’t expect to love this build as much as I do. If you’re into high damage, low effort playstyles with insane visuals and effectiveness, definitely give Tornado Necro a go.
