Final Fantasy XIV Online: Adapt To New Models Of Fighting

With the release of patch 4.25 Final Fantasy XIV Online, we can explore the fierce mysterious region of Eureka, where the elements are in constant flux and players will have to adapt to new models of fighting to get and improve new and powerful weapons.

This patch also includes the adventures of the extraordinary inspector, Hidibrand, and the seventh season of “The Feast” PvP.

The Forbidden Land, Eureka Anemos, is a large and unexplored area that brings several changes to the common pillars of the gameplay:

Exploration with several players: Up to 144 players can occupy the same instance. They will be encouraged to join in groups with other adventurers to hunt down notorious monsters and work towards the same goal.
Player Progression: Players will gain elemental experience to improve their skills in order to absorb the elements, and they can use the new Magia Board to customize their elemental affinity and explore Eureka.
Altered Combat Mechanics: A new strategy is required in the battle thanks to the elemental system, players must use the Magia Board to change the elemental affinity of their attacks to oppose the element of their enemy. Players will be able to customize the elemental attributes of their Magia Board before going out to explore using Magia Melder, and should carefully consider their plan depending on the goal of their adventure.
Rewards: Occasionally, players can earn protean crystals while exploring Eureka and can use them to improve their weapons and skills in this place with the help of the famous blacksmith, Gerolt.

The current state of FFXIV and Square Enix’s plans for future Dragon Quest games

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix’s reboot of their MMO franchise, has already surpassed the company’s previous entry in the series, Final Fantasy XI. With over 600,000 active subscribers, FFXIV has more active players than FFXI did at its peak.

This information came from Square’s online financial results briefing, posted earlier today. In the document, Square also outlines their plans for other online games as well as the future of the Dragon Quest franchise.

For online-based titles, such as the in-development Nosgoth, the plan is to “transform the fixed-price model into variable earning models.” In plain terms, that means shifting to free-to-play, although it’s unclear if this initiative would affect the Final Fantasy MMO franchises.

Another slide in the document also clarifies that domestic studios (in Japan) will focus on “titles for smart devices” while overseas studios will shift to “production of online-based titles.”

Included in those smart device titles will be sequels to games in the Dragon Quest series, Final Fantasy Agito, and “many other popular products.” The document says Dragon Quest X, a currently Japan-only MMO, “will appear on the ‘d-game’ platform as a cloud game for smart devices.” There are no specific plans laid out for Western releases.

Square’s financial outlook improves thanks to FFXIV

Square's financial outlook improves thanks to FFXIV
Square-Enix has revised its financial outlook and now expects to finish the current quarter with a $47.6 million profit, The Escapist reports. Most of the credit goes to Final Fantasy XIV and its 1.5 million users, of course, but the piece also mentions Square’s “company-wide cost cutting efforts” as part of the winning formula.

Final Fantasy XIV originally launched in 2010 before closing down and undergoing a radical redesign presided over by producer Naoki Yoshida.

The Excellent Product From Final Fantasy XIV During These Days

Nowdays, more and more games can be played by different people. But to some people, it is confusing and demanding to choose a good game .Now, please allow me to introduce an excellent game to you.

It is FFXIV. In FFXIV you just need to switch your main weapon and you switch classes. You still start at level one with the new class, but the process of leveling up is sped up. This means that all of your “alt” characters are just your character.

The comfortable controller is only part of the reason why the game works so well. The other aspect of the game is that there is always something for you to do. If you get bored with one aspect of the game, you can quickly and easily switch to another. The game even makes grinding enemies for experience points more directed by giving you “hunting lists” of monsters to kill for bonus points.

Speaking of grouping, the game makes it pretty easy to jump into pre-made parties with other players to encounter dungeons and bosses (though you can admittedly find groups faster if you are playing a defensive “tank”-type class or healer class). What is more, if you want to reach higher level quickly, you can choose the ffxiv power leveling which is one of the advantages of Final Fantasy XIV.

On top of all of this, the game is truly the first full-fledged World-of-Warcraft-style MMO to really, truly work well with a controller, making the entire experience more comfortable and immediate than its competitors.

AION Combing Soon

Hello all!
Bayohne here again with a tantalizing tease for two point one! (That’s patch 2.1, but I really just wanted to keep the alliteration going, even if only briefly…)
I noticed that there were some new characters moving around that I hadn’t seen before. It turns out that these weren’t new NPCs, but actually Project Manager M trying out some of the new hairstyles debuting alongside the barber shop!
New male hairstyle…

And new female hairstyle!

FFXIV’s Got 1.5M Players, Guess That Massive Overhaul Paid Off

Final Fantasy XIV hit 1.5 million registered players in its first two months, and if you’re wondering what that means, here’s one suggestion: A Realm Reborn was worth it.P First, let’s put that number in context: 1.5 million might be negligible for a free-to-play game, but Final Fantasy XIV is a subscription-based MMORPG. All of those people are paying monthly to inhabit the world of chocobos and crystals. (The biggest paid MMORPG, World of Warcraft, was at 7.7 million subscribers last time developer Blizzard announced their numbers.) Another high-profile MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, started similarly, with 1.7 million subscribers in its first two months. But momentum slowed for BioWare’s online game, and following a big drop in subscription numbers, they took it free-to-play last year. So this is a good start for Square’s critically-acclaimed MMORPG, which was first launched to disastrous reception in 2011, then shut down and overhauled only to be relaunched this year as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn for PC and PS3. (The folks behind the game, Square Enix, say a beta for the PS4 version of the game will launch on February 22.) Now let’s see if they can keep it up.

The life of an adventurer is the pursuit of fortune and the pursuit of fame. It is the devotion of oneself to seeking out danger and glory wherever they might lie. It is an endless quest taken up only by the most intrepid and dauntless of souls.

The term came into popular use among the people of Eorzea little more than a decade ago. Left idle by the onset of the Age of Calm, a leading mercenary officer gathered to his side a number of trusted companions, and together they formed a guild dedicated to the common cause of aiding the realm at large.

Outside the modest station of their humble beginnings, a simple sign hung for all to see―Adventurers’ Guild.

The Adventurers’ Guild has since spread, and can now be found in each of the
realm’s great nations. It is here that Eorzeans come with their myriad pleas and requests, and here that adventurers heed the call, whether it be the slaying of some foul beast plaguing the countryside, or the crafting of fine wares demanding a master’s touch.

What greatness lies in store for you, adventurer?

Final Fantasy XIV:Some questions we can not avoid

ffxiv waterfall Final Fantasy XIV:Some questions we can not avoid
Final Fantasy XIV : A Realm Reborn is definitely a solid game, but it does have a big problem: gold (or gil, as the local currency is named) selling and spamming Real Money Trade workers trying their hardest to control the economy and make as much profit as possible at the expense of legit players.
But what is the scope of the problem? A simple character search can help us catch a glimpse on it. One of the most common names used by gil sellers is “Goldceo” followed by a random last name. That’s something every player notices every day, and it’s very doubtful that any legit player would ever use such a silly name.
Final Fantasy XIV has a handy web based character search feature that allows us to know just how many “Goldceo” are crowding the game’s servers. You can find the result here.
The list is truncated at last names beginning with a “S”, because it can display only 1,000 results at the same time. This means that there are over 1,000 “Goldceo” characters in the game, and all of them or nearly all are dedicated RMT tools. If we consider that “Goldceo” isn’t even the only name used for the purpose, it’s easy to see that the problem has spread to an extreme level.
Square Enix has been making considerable efforts to fight the issue since the times of Final Fantasy XI,  even getting to the point of creating a “special task force” of GMs dedicated exclusively to root the problem out of the company’s MMORPGs, but it’s like playing whack-a-mole, and the manpower of the RMT industry as a whole seems to surpass what the Japanese publisher can put on the field.
Of course such a rampant RMT problem also indicates that the game is quite healthy, as RMT firms would not waste that kind of resources of a game that doesn’t guarantee them a hefty profit, but this isn’t exactly the first thought occurring to most players when they’re getting spammed by a gil seller peddling his wares. Hopefully, at the very least, Square Enix will implement easier ways to blacklist and report offenders, because that’s starting to be direly needed.
Update – October the 29th: apparently now the search for the “Goldceo” name only yields 40 results, hinting to the strong possibility that Square Enix’s Special Task Force pulled out the big guns and removed most of the offenders. We’re waiting for further information from Square Enix.
