I have to disagree

I have to disagree. Rifts were cool, but they were pretty much old mechanics covered in a fresh layer of paint. Random rift spawns aren’t enough to compare them to dynamic events.

Secondly (and more briefly), I’m a little offended that there’s this idea that “casuals” are the only people who can enjoy good story elements in their MMO. What, if it’s not straight grinding, it’s casual-catering..?
I haven’t played the game, so I can’t speak much for the feature itself, but everyone who plays the game should be able to appreciate a feature that helps enrich the story.

Now take a team that brought you Guild Wars 2

But like many computer gaming company’s, they also fell victim to the “Oh look at this amazing technology on the market. Let’s build a game using all the latest visual graphics and computer programming technology
Consider Guild Wars one big giant Beta, that’s been played by 3million+ players world wide. Now take a team that brought you Guild Wars Now take a team that brought you Guild Wars 2, learning from what players wanted, and all they intended, and all the mistakes they know they made and wish to make them better.

My computer can’t even run Civilazation 5, or Sims 3. Why will Anet believe that my computer will be able to run Guild Wars 2, using the “Latest technology….” It won’t. And many other computer systems won’t either. For better or worse many players will be forced to upgrade or hack out new computer systems just to even keep up with those that have monster rocking systems. In that playbook, they’ll be missing out at probably a million players worth of sales. $59.99 for the game….then anywhere between $500-$2,000 dollars in equipment just to play it. Even I saw the visual graphics at E3 and the computer they used to play it…we’re not talking about every day run of the mill equipment. We’re talking about “Reckomended System” material for the best results to play the game.

Mesmer’s Illusion、illusion、 clone and spells

Illusions—Mesmers create illusions—mind tricks that manifest themselves physically. Most illusions are directed at a specific target, but anyone can see and attack them. They can only exist for as long as that target is alive and can only be dispelled by attacking the illusion itself. A mesmer can maintain up to three illusions at a time, with the oldest illusion being replaced by the newly created one. There are two types of illusions: clones and phantasms.

  • Clones—Clones are illusions that look just like the caster, have the caster’s name, and have basic behaviors. Clones have low health and tend to do little damage. For example, a mesmer equipped with a sword has two clone-summoning skills: Leap, which launches him forward, leaving a clone at his location, and Illusionary Leap, which summons a clone at his location that then jumps forward.
  • Phantasms—Phantasms are illusions that look like the caster but have their own names and carry special illusionary weapons, which look different and have specific behavior. Phantasms are more powerful, having more health and causing more damage. For example, a staff mesmer can summon an illusionary mage that attacks its target and deals extra damage for each inflicted condition.

Mantras—Mantras are a category of skill that have two phases. The mesmer first activates the mantra, which has a long cast time and replaces that skill slot with an instant-casting skill that the mesmer can then use. Mantras are powerful because many can be charged up before battle and then used in the middle of another spell, without interrupting that spell. For example, Mantra of Pain can charge up into an instant-damage power spike that can be used during a channeled spell, such as the greatsword skill.

After the many, many years of waiting, we finally have the day for Diablo 3 to hit the shelves. The time is nigh and the end of waiting is approaching!

You are not dreaming, we have the Diablo 3 release date for you: May 15th!

In a tweet from all Blizzard staff and this from Bashiok “I’m pleased to announce that Diablo III will be hitting store shelves on May 15, and digital presales start right now.”  Blizzard have waited so long, and we now have Diablo 3 — arguably the most anticipated game of all time — ready for us all.

Blizzard will release the biggest game of the year and have other titles called StarCraft 2: Heart Of The Swarm and World Of Warcraft: Mists Of Pandaria to follow it up. Its going to be a good year for Blizzard.

Most illusions are directed at a specific target

Mesmers create illusions—mind tricks that manifest themselves physically. Most illusions are directed at a specific target, but anyone can see and attack them. A mesmer can maintain up to three illusions at a time, with the oldest illusion being replaced by the newly created one. There are two types of illusions: clones and phantasms.

The mesmer doesn’t have the brute power of the warrior, or the ranged devastation of the ranger. Instead, the mesmer weaves a web of interlaced illusions, conditions, and phantasmal sources of damage. Through skillful play, mesmers combine these pieces into a deadly puzzle to be solved by their foes, while also helping their allies.

Where key members of our Ops team met with Bluehole developers for discussions regarding our publishing platform

Where key members of our Ops team  met with Bluehole developers for discussions regarding our publishing platform. It was an intense week of collaborations, meetings, brainstorming, question-and-answer sessions, and discussions, but it’s been great working with such an experienced and talented team intent on building a high quality publishing platform focused on great user experiences and streamlined support.

It is the aggregation of features and technology that allows us to publish and service the game efficiently and effectively. This includes features such as an account management system, subscription engine, payment method acceptance, customer support portal, knowledge database, security, moderation and CS support tools, analytics, bot detection, and so much more. The goal is to ensure a high quality experience for our players beyond the actual gameplay, everything from account creation to customer support to billing, and all the surrounding and supporting features required for a great overall user experience. But in order to ensure a great experience, it’s extremely important to build the platform specifically tailored to the appropriate audience—in En Masse’s case, North America.

This recent trip was just one of countless examples of the effort that both En Masse and Bluehole are investing into building a great game and platform for TERA players. It was an incredibly busy and productive trip, but we didn’t forget to do one of the things that make working in this industry so awesome: have fun! In fact, I’m happy to report that between Pat, Adam, and me, En Masse held their own against the drinking prowess of the team at Bluehole, a feat not easily accomplished and always regrettable!
